The traditional Bavarian Breakfast (Weisswurst Frühstück) includes wheat beer, white sausages, sweet mustard and brezels, and it should be enjoyed before midday.

We do the WWF as a potluck event in good company once a month on Friday.

This Friday (06.12.2024) was special as it coincided with the Independence Day of Finland (FIN) and Nikolaustag (GER).

Sektkellerei Höfer - Glanzpunkte

Unique videoinstallation made for Sektkellerei Höfer. It first premiered at the GLANZPUNKTKE event on 16.11.2024. Two digital projectors play synchronised, overlapping videos onto the underground cellar walls accompanied by moody soundscape. The art project was done in collaboration with Julian Eichler from doitsmart and sound artist Aggi Berger.

Travelling by train to Vienna after the flood of the century. No sign of damage or high-water, only sunshine and blue skies.

After walking slowways in the city, and visiting different non-touristical districs, it was time to head out to the wild at Steiermark. Fresh air at high altitude, relaxing sauna, and focused meditation did good for the heart and soul!

Switzerland - Italy - France

Touring some 3600 km across Switzerland, Northern Italy and Southern France between middle of May to middle of June. Stop overs at Luzern, Lugano, Milano, Torino, Grenoble, Volanne, Aigues-Mortes, Marseillan and Lyon.

During the Tour, we met very nice people, enjoyed tasty food & drinks, and experienced fantastic nature + culture + architecture. The whole Tour was relaxing, reloading, and above all - fun!

Frank Gehry:
MasterClass

Took part and completed Frank Gehry's MasterClass. It was interesting to follow Frank's lectures and work on the suggested assignments. The thinking behind Gehry projects, both built and unbuilt, was enlightening. The tips for making architecture (in Frank's definition 15% is reserved for that), were to be very practical, on schedule and on budget. Interesting aspects, as his designs are known to be showstopping expressive.

The students of architecture taking part on the Course made their project presentations at the Sektkellerei Höfer. Season 5 went in search of the "Spirit of Place" - and found it in the many fun designs for a new KunstKeller.

The Studio has been working on this theme in Finland since 1983, and in Germany from 2014 onwards. In January 2024, the new FIN-GER opened its doors as a Studio at the Kultur- und Kreativzentrum Bürgerbräu. The Studio is located in the former Horse Stables which now serve as a creative space for "Making Ideas".

FIN-GER provides insightful concepts, designs and plans for private, public and commercial clients. The services and products include Architecture & Design, Urban Planning, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography and Film. FIN-GER is also specialised in Nordic Lifestyle - with core value of "Love for Life".

FIN-GER Concept Store 2015-2023

In summer 2014, two architects, Juhani Karanka (FIN) and Matthias Braun (GER), met for lunch in the container bar at the Bürgerbräu. During these lunch breaks an idea emerged to open a store for concepts - basically to make a living out of selling ideas. One thing let to another and in 2015 the FIN-GER Finnish-German Concept Store opened its doors in the former Horse Stables at the Bürgerbräu Old Brewery in Würzburg.

FIN-GER was all about creating innovative concepts and making ideas become reality. Since 2015, FIN-GER arranged an ArchitekturAkademie für Kinder and Architecture Biennale, unique events (nanokino, Urban Camping, Camera Obscura, Belvedere, Finnish Sky, etc.), took part in the Restaurant Day and arranged numerous art exhibitions. After almost ten years of activity, the FIN-GER GbR (company) finally closed at the end of 2023.
