Season's
Greetings FIN-GER
Season's Greetings from FIN-GER. |
|
Frank
Gehry FIN-GER
Our hearts are heavy as we learned of your
passing today, Friday 5 December 2025. The
world has lost one of its most daring and
poetic architectural voices. In a poignant
coincidence, Oscar Niemeyer also left us on
this very date (5.12.2012). |

Architecture
Policy FIN-GER Enquiry regarding the development of an architectural policy Dear Lord Mayor Martin Heilig, I would like to enquire whether the City of Würzburg is planning to develop a comprehensive architectural policy that addresses the following topics: sustainability, climate, protection and provision of green spaces, biodiversity, transport and mobility, quality, information and transparency, public participation, competitions, education, art in public buildings, experimental architecture, regional identity, social justice and vision. In addition, I am interested to know in what form the implementation of these topics is envisaged. |

Le
Cabanon Heidingsfeld FINGERARCHITECTURE completed Le Cabanon on time and under budget at the building site in Heidingsfeld, Würzburg. Here is a view of the finished interior with original furniture and artefacts combined with some new elements. This small renovation project, that we call Le Cabanon, is inspired by Le Corbusier's tiny house on the Mediterranean where he spent a lot of happy moments and felt free to create.
The first comments from our senior client
were: |
|
Weinlese Vineyards at Astheim FINGERNAUT on a photo shoot at the vineyards in Astheim near Volkach. The Weinlese for making the best Sekt was in full swing, and I was happy to photograph how the vine grapes are handpicked and immediately transported to the slow press at Sektkellerei Höfer. |

Tiny
Bistro Pförtnerhaus - Bürgerbräu
FINGERARCHITECTURE helping out our neighbours
at Bürgerbräu with a small design task. This
beautiful, tiny gatehouse from early 19th
century is getting a new life as a tiny bistro
- a high-quality focacceria - that seats only
10 guests in a very cozy interior. When the
weather is good, you can also enjoy your
delicious meal outdoors. |

FIN-GER + 2/4
Cafe 2/4 Cafe FIN-GER will support the reopening of the legendary 2/4 Cafe in Würzburg. This week a bunch of artists, architects, and cultural people got together to check out the premises, and to see what can be done with the place. I've never ever been here before (as far as I can recall...), but a lot of people say that they have very good memories of the unique, cozy, friendly atmosphere of the 2/4. How about you? Can you enlighten me, what could be done here? Keep it as it was or do something new? A public house? |

Le
Cabanon Heidingsfeld FINGERARCHITECTURE began a new building site in Heidingsfeld, Würzburg. The de-construction team started clearing the bathroom The aim here is to upgrade the existing 1960s one-room apartment above the garage into a livable tiny house, "Le Cabanon". Other aims include saving of as much as possible of the original artefacts, materials and surfaces as possible, as the person using the building has dementia. "Le Cabanon" is inspired by Le Corbusier's tiny house on the Mediterranean. |
|
AIV
Würzburg Rottendorfer Straße Bridge Würzburg The AIV Würzburg visited the bridge construction site that imposes several challenges in building site management. The old bridge was demolished and a new bridge is currently under construction over the busy main railway line. And yes, the trains are running through this spot day and night! This heavy duty 12 Million € worksite should be done and dusted by next year... |
